Half Year Review 2023 adventures

Well, we are mid way through the year and so far I have done a lot, but I think the best adventures are still in the second part of the year. Let’s take a quick review at the highlights of the first six months of 2023:

Offshore Fishing

Back to back offshore fishing trips on the Double Threat out of Coconut Grove, Miami, resulted in 3 out of 5 landed sailfish, blackfin tuna, dolphin (mahi-mahi fish), grouper, amberjack and other pelagic species from sharks to barracudas.

Inshore Fishing

Went on six inshore trips with Capt. Mo of Miami Bonefishing in Biscyane National park and Everglades National Park.

Kicked off the fishing year with a Bonefish palooza landing 9 out of 11 bones with three over 10 pounds! Other trips in the first half we caught lemon sharks, snook and mutton snappers as well as other species.

Trout Fishing

Spent an early spring day trout fishing in the Pecos Mountains outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico. While the snow run off was moving a lot of water and debris downstream, the fish cooperated with 1 for 4 of brown trout and 5 for 6 on rainbows.

Shark Fishing

Did a few shark fishing trips and perfected underwater video with my GoPro … check out video below.

Visiting All 50 states

My Trip to New Mexico in May commuted my 50-state quest.

Off Roading in Big Cypress

Almost got stuck in deep mud in the backcountry of Big Cypress . see video below.

Second Half of 2023

July will see me fishing with my son on Lake Huron in Canada and August I will be in the Amazon fishing for 10 days.
