yes, we have no bananas

… We have no bananas today.

Many fisherman and most guides swear off bananas and won’t eat them or have them on their boat for superstitious reason.   I will typically eat a banana with my morning coffee before heading out to fish, and I know a few guides that actually keep bananas on their boats, more as a joke than an anti-banana statement.

I’ve had epic fishing days with bananas on the boat and have been skunked with no bananas onboard.

It’s fishing, not catching and there are a million variables that play into success, not one of them is a luck hat, lucky coffee mug or a yellow fruit.
