Amazon Fishing Expedition: 2023 Big Trip
If 2022 was all about Alaska and chasing trophy rainbow trout and graylings with a side trip for halibut, then 2023 is all about Brazil and chasing trophy peacock bass as well as many other species of fish.
The Amazon
The Amazon rainforest stretches across 5.5 million square kilometers/2.5 million square miles – an area far more extensive than the EU and more than half of the US. Within this vast ecosystem there are many different ecosystems each holding different plants, animals, fish and birds.
The area of the Amazon I’l be fishing in (see red circle) is in the southern part of Amazonas state on the Rio Guariba 8°10’39.3″S 60°27’12.3″W, a tributary of the rio Aripuanã.
